Stevie Ray Hamer born November 13, 1973 to Robert and Gracie Hamer in Grand Junction, TN.
He developed an early love for the game of basketball and used this love as the impetus that propelled him to captain the Middleton High School Tigers to the 1992 state championship while earning the coveted Mr. Basketball for the state of Tennessee along the way.
Stevie was a four year starter for the University of Tennessee for the 1992-1996 campaigns. While playing for the big orange, Stevie twice garnered All-SEC selections and ranks in the top 20 all-time on the scoring list. Stevie was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 38th pick of the 1996 NBA draft and started several games as a member of the Celtics.
Stevie currently serves as the Director of Athletics for Apostolic Christian School of Knoxville, Tennessee. He also works for the SEC Network giving color commentary for men's and women's basketball. Aside from this, he works for the Vol Radio Network. Stevie is also a recent graduate of Leadership Knoxville whose four objectives are community understanding, relationship building, leadership skills and civic engagement.
Stevie is married to his wife Cher and they have three wonderful children. Their names are Isabella, Malachi and Penelope.
